#ChantsUp: Baby representing CCU before being born

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A recent Coastal Carolina University graduate saw a familiar signal from her unborn baby during a 26-week checkup ultrasound.

Courtney Mahoney said she went in to get extra measurements done on her unborn daughter and could not really see the screen during the ultrasound. When the photos were printed off and handed to her and her husband they saw a familiar signal from their Alma Mater, #ChantsUp.

“I noticed that the baby was doing the #ChantsUp signal and we were like that’s so funny,” Mahoney said. “My husband was like ‘You need to post that for your friends could see.’ So I did and our friends and family thought it was funny and ironic. Once Coastal posted it, I had some friends and faculty members from CCU text me and were like that is hilarious.”

CCU went to Twitter and posted the photo, making sure that people knew it was not doctored, with the hashtag #ChantsUp.

For CCU #ChantsUp is signal that those associated with the university use as it looks very familiar to their mascot, Chauncey the Chanticleer.

“I have no clue where she will go, but if she decides to go to CCU we will support it,” Mahoney said.
