Over 65,000 customers across the Grand Strand, Pee Dee without power


HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Many areas are beginning to report power outages as Hurricane Florence has started to impact the Grand Strand and the Pee Dee.

Duke Energy reports that 313,420 customers across North and South Carolina have lost power. Of those customers, 5,942 are in South Carolina. Approximately 2,229 customers in Marion County are without power as of 10:20 a.m. Friday. In Robeson County, NC, there are 4,959 customers without power.

Horry Electric Cooperative, Inc. reports on its website that 13,318 customers throughout Horry County are without power as of 10:20 a.m. Friday.

According to information on Santee Cooper’s website, approximately 16,150 customers were without power in Horry County as of 10:20 a.m. Friday. Of that, 6,936 customers were out in North Myrtle Beach, another 6,496 were out in Little River and 1,102 were in the dark in Conway.

There is not an estimated restoration time.
