Families identify three women injured in Homerville explosion

Three Clinch County women remain in a Florida hospital following a natural gas explosion in Homerville Friday.

The three were inside a coffee shop downtown when the blast erupted–leaving the building in shambles.

Officials say a customer and two employees of the Coffee Corner on Dame Avenue are still recovering from second and third-degree burns across their bodies.

Family have identified the victims as Baylee and Emily Tolle and Anna O’Guin. They were flown by helicopter to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida in serious condition.

The State Insurance Commission Office confirmed that a fiber optic construction crew was digging in the area around 10 Friday morning when they struck a natural gas line and a sewer line connected to the Coffee Corner. The explosion was ruled accidental.

The blast shut down the downtown area Friday afternoon which remained closed until Saturday morning.

Churches are asking the community for prayers for the three women and their families during this difficult time.
