CONWAY, SC (WMBF)- A river flood warning remains in effect for the Waccamaw River at Conway until further notice.
The combination of heavy rain last week plus an additional two to four inches of rain will cause the Waccamaw River to continue to rise. The river will slowly rise to 11.5ft over the next several days. This would put the river at the top of the “minor flood” category.
At 11.5 feet, flooding will worsen in the Lees Landing, Riverfront South, Pitch Landing and Savannah Bluff communities. Flood waters will begin to surround some homes north of Conway on Riverside Drive. Swamps adjacent to the river will be heavily flooded.
