CONWAY, S.C. (AP) – The family of a Conway couple whose skeletal remains were found in some woods near the South Carolina coast says one of the suspects is the granddaughter of one of the victims.
Local media outlets reported that the Horry County Coroner’s Office confirmed this week that the remains are those of 64-year-old Linda McAllister and 45-year-old William Clemons, both of Conway. They had been missing since July 1.
Police last week charged 21-year-old Jordan Hodge and 28-year-old Kenneth Carlisle of Aynor with murder and financial transaction fraud.
The McAllister family issued a statement Tuesday saying Jordan Hodge is the granddaughter of the dead woman.
The statement said Jordan Hodge’s parents are working with law enforcement to investigate McAllister’s death.
The remains were found July 15 in a bloody truck.
