GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) –

The storms threat will continue through middle week, then our attention turns to dangerous heat! Expect heat index values near 105 by Thursday into Friday.

Lows will cool to 65-70 by Wednesday morning with partly cloudy skies to start the day..

Wednesday will bring drier conditions, but we could still see a random storm pop-up. Highs will be hotter in the low 90s for the Upstate and upper 80s in the mountains.

The extreme heat will begin on Thursday and last through Saturday. Expect highs in the mid to upper 90s for the Upstate, with heat index values ranging from 100-107. The mountains will be unseasonably hot with highs reaching to near 90 and heat index toward 95.

Heat backs off a bit toward Sunday and Monday, but you’ll still be sweating!

As for the tropics, Tropical Storm Don will only be around for another 24 hours or so as it affects areas around the Lesser Antilles. Another disturbance in the Atlantic could become tropical in upcoming days. Stay tuned!
