Power restored to hundreds in Horry, Florence counties after outages Monday morning


FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – About 460 Duke Energy customers in Florence County were without power Monday morning.

According to the Duke Energy Progress outage map, 461 customers in Florence County, 106 customers in Williamsburg County, and 27 customers in Georgetown County were without power.

Horry Electric Cooperative reported that 239 members near Green Sea are also without power Monday morning.

Horry Electric Cooperative officials confirmed a bad transformer was the cause of those outages.

Power was restored to most customers in the affected counties as of 8 a.m.
