FIRST ALERT: Lowcountry at risk of severe weather

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) –

The Lowcountry is at slight risk of severe weather Monday evening as storms move through southeastern South Carolina.

Live 5 News Meteorologist Stephanie Sine says a downpour and damaging winds are likely after sundown. The Lowcountry faces a medium threat of hail and a low chance of tornadoes.

Inland areas near Orangeburg and into the Midlands face higher risk of severe weather.

The storms should die down and clear by midnight, Sine says.
