FIRST ALERT- Record breaking lows this morning and a warm up ahead

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Temperatures have dropped steadily this morning and have reached record lows for the Pee Dee. The previous record was 25 degrees set in 1988. So far this morning we have dropped to 23 and could drop another degree or so as the sun rises.

Today will be sunny and less windy with temperatures a few degrees warmer than yesterday. Afternoon temperatures will reach the low 50s inland and near 50 at the beach. Another freeze is likely Thursday night with inland areas falling to the upper 20s while the beaches drop into the lower 30s. Milder weather finally returns Friday afternoon with temperatures in the lower 60s. Next week will have some temperature swings, but lows should stay above freezing.
