ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) – The Oconee County sheriff says he thinks his deputies will eventually find who killed a Clemson University student 20 years ago.
Monday marks the 20th anniversary of authorities finding the body of 18-year-old Brooke Holsonback floating in Lake Hartwell.
Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says an autopsy determined the freshman bio-chemistry major was strangled. No one has been charged.
Holsonback spent the day before her body was found riding in mud holes with two other Clemson students. Crenshaw says Holsonback walked away after the truck got stuck and the two men started arguing,
Crenshaw was a sheriff’s lieutenant 20 years ago. He says he remembers almost every detail of the case.
Crenshaw told the Anderson Independent-Mail (http://bit.ly/2kQPY2F ) that his investigators still think there is information out there to solve the case.
